With the Demand Heat Map, you can zoom in and scroll around on the map to see which area is in demand. You can also manually refresh the Heat Map.
The Demand Heat Map is represented by different shades of red. The darker the area, the higher the demand.
Turning it on is easy. Update your Grab Driver app to the latest version and follow the steps below.
How often does the Demand Heat Map refresh?
The Heatmap refreshes every 5 minutes, but you can refresh more often using the refresh button.
If I drive towards a red area, will I definitely receive a job?
Red areas on the map are areas of high absolute demand. However, the demand for that area may decrease as you drive towards it. Should this happen, the area will get less red over time.
Will going to an area with high passenger demand means I’ll get high-fare jobs?
The updated Heat Map shows areas with demand-supply imbalance. As such, you may or may not get high-priced jobs in these areas. Fret not, we are looking at ways to improve your productivity even more, so stay tuned!
Why am I seeing a different heatmap from another Grab Driver?
This could be because you and the other Driver have different verticals / services enabled. The heatmaps will change depending on the services enabled.
If two Drivers from the same city have the same services enabled, they will see the same heatmap - try refreshing the heatmap at the same time.
Why am I still on the old Heat Map?
Your current phone software version might not be able to support the new Heat Map. Ensure that you’re at least on Grab Driver app v1.75.0 for iOS or v5.88.0 for Android.
