Drivers can now accept cash directly from their passengers, with the explicit purpose to top-up or load-up their passenger's GrabPay Credits account. This is an additional top-up channel for our passengers aside from existing methods such as bank transfers, cards, or physical stores.
Before topping up the GrabPay Credits of your passenger, please make sure of the following:
1. A passenger cannot top up pre-ride, or post-ride. Top-up can only be done when the ride is already tagged as IN-TRANSIT. We suggest that you top-up your passenger before starting driving to the destination or upon arriving at the destination before hitting on DROP-OFF.
2. A passenger cannot approach a Grab Driver on the street and ask for a top-up.
3. A Driver cannot initiate a top-up for his/her passenger
4. A Driver cannot top-up more than what he has in his Cash Wallet.
Here is how:
STEP 1: You should see a notification for the top-up request from your passenger. You can either click on the notification or the green "G" icon below.
STEP 2: You can now collect cash from the passenger based on the amount of the requested top-up. Click on "Collected Cash". The amount will then be deducted from your Cash Wallet and you will see a confirmation message below.
STEP 3: You can now proceed dropping off your passenger.
